Betaine
- Composition: The main active ingredient is betaine hydrochloride (not less than 97%), which is obtained synthetically.
- Form: White or yellowish crystalline powder.
- Pharmacological properties: Betaine is a feed additive, a replacement for choline chloride and methionine, used to enrich and balance the diets of farm animals and birds. The feed additive is a powerful anti-stress drug that maintains the water balance of cells, reduces the body's energy expenditure for osmoregulation.
- Storage conditions: Store in the manufacturer's packaging in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight, at a temperature of -20°C to 30°C, and a relative humidity of no more than 80%.
- Packaging and shelf life: Betaine is packed in paper bags weighing 20 kg. The shelf life of the feed additive is 24 months from the date of production.
Betaine, due to its dual biological activity, is a donor of methyl groups and acts as an osmoprotector. When feeding pigs, the main use of the drug is associated with its positive effect on energy absorption, which is especially important at the fattening stage. The presence of Betaine in premixes and concentrates significantly improves the preservation of vitamins, increases the shelf life of compound feeds, concentrates and premixes.
Effectiveness of applicationBetaine provides the following benefits of use:
- Increases the growth of lean meat and improves its quality;
- Provides better stability of micronutrients: vitamin A, group B and other nutrients in supplements. Betaine anhydrous does not have the acidity of betaine hydrochloride, so it is considered the most palatable type of betaine;
- Protects the intestinal epithelium of the piglet from stress after separation from the sow;
- Increases the energy absorption of the diet during fattening;
- Improves the viability of offspring and the fertility of sows;
- Increases the vitality, appetite and growth rate of piglets.
Application standards: Recommended rates of Betaine introduction into feed (kg/ton):
- Piglets after weaning – 1-2;
- Sows – 2;
- Pigs – 1.25-1.5;
- Broilers – 1.0;
- Laying hens – 0.5-0.75.
Overdose: It is important to follow the instructions for use.
Special precautions: Feed with the added feed additive should not be exposed to temperatures above 290°C.
Special precautions for personnel: Use protective gloves and goggles when adding the feed additive to the feed.
Forms of incompatibility: None.
