Ground chalk grade 1 (MM1)
- Chemical formula: CaCO
- Form: Homogeneous white powder, odorless, practically insoluble in water. Fraction 0-10 mm.
- Pharmacological properties: Ground chalk contains 37% calcium, 0.5% potassium, 0.3% sodium, 0.18% phosphorus. The content of silicon and other elements does not exceed 5%. The optimal balance of calcium and other minerals has a positive effect on the normal functioning of the heart, blood clotting, bone formation, etc. In addition, calcium increases the reproductive functions and defenses of the body, participates in the regulation of muscle and nervous activity.
- Storage conditions: Store in the manufacturer's packaging in a dark, dry, well-ventilated area at a temperature not exceeding 25ºС and air humidity not exceeding 65%.
- Packaging and storage: Ground chalk is packed in bags weighing up to 50 kg. The shelf life is not limited.
Effectiveness of use: Calcium deficiency in the diet of young animals leads to rickets: growth and development are impaired, the spine, ribs, and tubular bones are curved. In adult animals, calcium deficiency is expressed in metabolic disorders, exhaustion, bone fragility, and increased feed consumption. Productivity decreases in all indicators (live weight decreases, milk yields fall, etc.). Daily use of chalk in animal feeding contributes to:
- normalization of mineral metabolism;
- increasing productivity;
- shortening the fattening period;
- obtaining healthy offspring;
- preservation of young animals and prevention of rickets;
- improving the nutritional value of meat and milk;
- reducing feed consumption and, ultimately, increasing profitability.
Application standards: The chalk consumption rates are based on the calcium needs of animals and poultry, depending on the physiological state of the body, age, and the presence of pathological processes. Approximate daily consumption rates in g/capita:
- Dairy cows – 80-250;
- Dry cows – 50-60;
- Bulls producers – 50-60;
- Young cattle up to a year old – 10-40;
- Young cattle over one year old – 30-50;
- Working horses, suckling mares – 35-55;
- Foals – 15-25;
- Sows – 20-75;
- Piglets – 20-30;
- Adult chickens, turkeys – 3.5-4.0.
Overdose: It is important to follow the instructions for use.
Special precautions: Missing.
Special precautions for personnel: Use protective gloves and goggles when adding the feed additive to the feed.
Forms of incompatibility: Missing.
